Semi, so are you still having problems with the forums? I'll look into the map later tonight that is if Dan does not do it first. |

I checked the map from the site and it is definitely not working.
Which is strange because it was working when I tested it.
The original copy I had in my computer is not working now either.
It will have to go back to Jimbo for a review.
Meanwhile Ron will have to choose another map for the final hunt.
I would suggest a restart on Sunday. |

Well yeah.
Thats what I cant understand. Its not working for me now either.
The only thing I can think is that the folder name for the map must be the same as some other map in the custom level folders, and if you dont have the other map the problem would not arise.
The map folder name is not always the same as the name of the spk file.
We have had this happen in the past with a pair of my maps, but because I knew which maps were involved I was able to fix it.
This time I have no Idea where to look. |

Makes since Dan, If I remember right the map could be seen in the custom folder but once you enter the game it wasn't on the location list |

The map does not work because the path of the BGR file is wrong (CustomLevels \ Smiths Ferry \ tree mtns.png;) must be (customlevels \ rangipo desert \ tree mtns.bgr;) sorry for the intrusion, kind regards. |

Good catch Miriam.
Jimbo needs to alter the file path on his background file and upload it again. |

Ok, just to keep everyone informed.
The map Flaming Gorge used files from a previous map Jimbo built and some of the files he borrowed were not renamed to the new map folder.
The reason the map worked for some and not others was because if you had the previous map in your custom folder, the game would draw the files from that map and the new one would run fine.
When I tested the new map I still had the other map in my custom level folder. After testing I had a clean out of test maps and next time I tried to play Flaming Gorge it wouldnt run for me Either.
That confused the hell out of me and it took a while to sort out the cause.
However Jimbo was on the case smartly and made the needed changes so the map will now run as a stand alone.
The map has been updated in the library today. 01 04 2018.
If you have the original copy, I suggest you delete it and download the new one to prevent any future unexpected results.
cheers. |
