Hey guys, I'm new to this forum but I would like to get setup and start playing DH2005. I am running Vista and I would like to know the process to be setup on the server. If someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Deerstroyer first of you need the 1.2 patch it in patch and editors to the left of page download that if you don't have it.
Then go in hunt 3/10/13 to 3/24/13 then click on names of maps and download them unzip the put in custom folder with maps.
If this is your first maps go to my computer click on C drive click on programs file (86) click atari click deer hunter 2005 click game then you will see Customlevels
click that move maps to that folder
Then read what to do for the hunt where you got maps at make sure your weapon is named or entries are not taken with no name. Happy Hunting

Have you got the game running already and just need to know server configuration?
There is no longer support for gamespy servers, so you need to set up your server in Given IP Mode and advise those connecting of your IP number.
It is not required to hunt the weekly competition on a server, just run your game in standard mode, shoot your deer and send your entry according to the competition rules.
In order to get the TROPHY VIEWER to work in Vista when you try to open a DHT file from the trophy folder, you will have to remove the Sample level folder fron the custom levels folder.
The DHT is a file generated when you click the EXPORT button while looking at the SCREEN SHOT in the trophy room. The DHT is stored in the Tropy folder in the game files on your C/: drive..
Double clicking the DHT file will open it in the TROPHY VEIWER on your desktop.
To prevent problems in Vista you need to Right click on your desktop game shortcut Icon, and select ... Run as Administrater.
Then Right click the Icon again and select... Run in Compatibility Mode .....for Windows XP.
Cheers.
